Teacher - Jana Rosenstein

Supply List

Classroom Highlights

The first and second grade students have been walking through Holy Week. Taking time to see, touch and hear the story of Easter through Resurrection Eggs. Each egg holds a scripture verse and an item to help us remember and retell the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection. We are also reminded to look around and find symbols of the cross (letter T, utility poles, and lines in fences and signs). When we see these “crosses”, we are reminded to thank Jesus for loving us so much and for forgiving our sins by His life and death.

Easter day can be the most exciting and inspiring day of the year and the first and second grade class wish all of you a Very Blessed Easter! It is very hard to believe that the third quarter is over already. As we hopefully say goodbye to chilly, gloomy winter days, we also say farewell to our 3 rd quarter student teacher from Concordia. Ms. Laura Kolander has completed her first placement of student teaching in our classroom. It has been a joy to have her here, and we pray she has continued success in the education field. Thank you, Ms. Kolander and God’s Blessings on your next placement! So, this means, when we come back from spring break, and the sun is shining each morning through our classroom window, Mrs. Rosenstein is also back with her first and second grade students! Happy Spring!

Spanish

Students in Grades K-2 have been learning words to name objects in the house and in the classroom. We have labeled our classroom and enjoy finding and calling out words like escritorio (desk), ventana (window), puerta (door), lapiz (pencil), papel (paper), mesa (table), silla (chair), tijeras (scissors), and many other items we would find in the house and in our school. We also continue to practice vocabulary for food and we always open Spanish class with greeting one another. We are enjoying building our Spanish vocab and hope to be using it often outside of Spanish class!
